That sucks. But you can't beat a good cruise. A lot of people look at so many crammed onto a ship in horror. But I don't think they appreciate just how HUGE some of these boats are. It's not like everybody's packed in like sardines. We were on the boat where the American kid went out the window. Bad

Cuomo knows he's cooked. He knew that from the get go. I don't think he wanted any part of this but a lot of very rich people (who aren't all that smart) were prepared to throw a ton of money at him & he couldn't turn it down. In a weird kind of way I'm kind of amused he's taking them for a fortune

Good cruise? We went with Royal Caribbean. Fantastic (apart from the heat). We did the Baltic Sea route as well not long after - back in the days when you could get into Russia.

Technically, they forced Nixon to resign over lying. Curiously enough Iran-Contra went a similar way. The reason was because had the full details of what Nixon, Oliver North, Bush etc. been made public & cross-examined it would have brought down the entire system of government

You've gone at the right time of the year. When I cruised through there it was a bloody heatwave throughout Italy. Worst place I went to were the ruins at Herculaneum near Mt. Vesuvius. Ten metres below the surface with all that ash insulation. No wind. Felt like I was going to melt and pass out!

What was Richard Nixon's biggest blunder? He didn't burn the tapes. This is despite all of his advisors pleading with him to burn the tapes. Sure, he would have taken a ton of criticism - but not step down. Now bear in mind Trump learned everything he knows from Nixon and those very same advisors.

It does beg the question - what is the extent of the hold Trump has over these people? There have been powerful presidents before who've never been able to bully and intimidate the senate and congress to this extent. Something just doesn't smell right here.

The Catholic Church has a schizophrenic personality when it comes to injustice. On the one hand you have priests such as Fr. Romero who stood up to the death squads in El Salvador (eventually they got him). On the other - undeniably running death squads - like in Yugoslavia during WWII. 🤷‍♂️
