Has anyone used a mRNA/RNA Fluorescent in situ Hybridization probe (RNAscope) to visualize axon filaments or axon terminals?

On this #FluorescenceFriday, I am going back to my base, that is Taste Receptor Cells in the taste buds!
In this super-resolution image, you can see some taste cells (blue), neural innervation (green), and post-synaptic neurotransmitter receptor puncta (red)!

Understanding how to make bitter medicines more tolerable for children is essential, especially for kids who need them for their health. Bitter tastes often lead to non-compliance😖, but researchers are finding solutions! 💡

“Did anyone say Broccoli 🥦?”
Here is my second entry to #FluorescenceFriday on this site, as suggested by @wesstans.bsky.social!
This is a picture of Geniculate Ganglion on postnatal day 14, showing neurons in green, maker of oral sensory neurons PHOX2B in red, and EdU in blue!

Haha, in its original avatar or the way it got published in the paper? 😛
DM setting was ‘disabled’! It should work now!
It’s basically a mice where the neurons and fibers that express two genes/proteins simultaneously express RFP! We have previously found these neurons acting as mechanosensory neurons in oral cavity!
First try at #FluorescenceFriday on this platform!
