My presentation on Paul Woodadge's WW2TV is available for those who are interested, particularly those not based in southern England where I do most of my talks. The link is www.youtube.com/live/JZkXqVC... and is also a buton towards the top of my own website (www.ddaybuildup.info). Enjoy!

Another from my trawl at NARA. Taken at O-675, Savernake Forest. The caption reads: "The Administration Building of the 3276th QM Service Co, Irongates Camp, Marlborough, Wilts, England. This is one of the many buildings which is made out of out-moded subway cars. 3 Mar 44".

This photo has been around a bit but I still love it. Taken at O-637, Ashton Court, Bristol. The original caption reads "February 16, 1944".

A week or so before my self-imposed period of interest starts, this was taken on 18 Dec 43 at Woolacombe, but I love the composition. The official caption reads "Tank, lost overboard during amphibious training at US Assault Training Center, is recovered and towed to shore"

Today's puzzling find at NARA was the picture below showing 'Alligators' at a supply depot in Southern England (unspecified) on 23 Mar 44.
My understanding has always been that these were not used in the Normandy assault so what are they doing in a vehicle depot in March? Or am I wrong?

Well, they let me in. First day at NARA in DC has yielded about 750 photos, most of which I hadn't seen before. Below is a US flag flying on Dorchester Castle when it was headquarters of Marshalling Area D. It, and the rest, will be up on my website in due course.

On Thursday (5th Dec), at 19.00Z I'm talking on Paul Woodadge's WW2TV channel which can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZkX... (if all the technological DUKWs are in a row). The video should also be available thereafter for those whose time zones or busy lives mean they can't watch live.

For my 1st post here I'd like to announce an update to www.ddaybuildup.info. This adds US units 31 Mar to 30 Jun, hopefully improves the ease of use of the dashboard to get reports, adds a Unit Location report and starts to expose photos/maps that I have found. Constructive critism welcomed
