I'm going to be that annoying guy and post those charts all season as I think they're really good at summarizing games, so if you don't know how to read them and you're interested in learning, here's a quick guide. There's a lot of lines that might seem random but serve a really useful purpose.
Through 15 games, #Flyers top 5 current RAPM xG± leaders (and league rank %tile by position):

3-2, #Flyers lose in OT. Thought they looked great in the 3rd, and Michkov in particular is starting to look back to normal. Would like to see his ice time start to reflect that. Love Drysdale's positioning on his goal, same spot as before.

Seeing Celebrini/Bedard/Carlsson's start to the season (and rookies like Demidov/Schaefer) does make me envious as Michkov struggles. The rational part of my brain has 0 worry about Michkov long term, but the fan part wants to see his name in the national conversation alongside his peers.

In the offseason, I was pretty firm with my belief that #Flyers Cam York should not be a candidate for PP time based on his not great results with significant PP time prior, and generally based on his play style.
Through 10 games, York ranks on the team (via RAPM) on the PP:

@evolvingwild.evolving-hockey.com Hate to bother but I have a question player cards: what are these percentile ranks using? Is it as simple as GAR + xGAR, is it based on one or the other, or is there some formula that weighs the two differently? Scoured your website but couldn't find any info.

5-4 #Flyers win. At 5v5, Flyers whooped butt. Couldn't make it with the PK, but came away with the win. Michkov with a sneaky effective game, but Zegras was the clear standout. Man, what a game for him.

Demidov looks great this year, but before fans get down on Michkov, he was regularly this good last year. They have very similar P/60 in their first 20-ish games, and Michkov was on a much worse team. I still believe in the young talent on this team to eventually be as exciting as MTL.

Just catching up to the game and saw the shot totals. I know Tocchet prefers more selective shots than pure volume, but 9 shots through most of 2 periods isn’t cutting it. They’re also not producing enough dangerous chances to make up for it, as they’re the among the lower xGF teams in the league.
