Mandela won a Nobel peace prize, but the overthrowing of apartheid wasn't a peaceful process. Even he understood the need to meet authoritarians on terms they understand

Power corrupts, power is corruptible. What's needed is to remove the tyrants from power and break down the oppressive structures that exist. Doesn't matter if you resist violently or non-violently if the same power structures are still in place.

You mentioned South Africa earlier, and its supposed non-violent overthrow of the apartheid government (way more complex than that) and now we're one of the most complex countries with the highest wealth inequality in the world, so how does that help either?

While I do acknowledge some of these are good examples, idk if we can say non-violent Danish resistance to the Nazis is what ended the war... What ended the war was people fighting Nazis. Nazis do not respect non-violence, it just makes us easier for them to exterminate.
