Last Sunday The Humdrum Express launched their brand new album at Claptrap The Venue in Stourbridge. An afternoon gig with a difference & time well spent checking out an artist mixing performance poetry with indie rock.

Honoured to write a few words on the recent Honey & the Bear, Holly Carter & Suzanne Vega gigs. A mention to for @katherinepriddy.bsky.social but her big Birmingham day is headlining the Town Hall next May.
Just added a selection of gig reviews to our live pages, check them out here:

Saw them at a festival last year. Good set.

Thanks for the play.

Brandiโ€™s default sound has always veered towards the big vocals with subtle insertions on her records. The difference this time I agree is that subtlety is the default & really suits her. Mind you this one is a biggie.

1st album was okay ish. Theyโ€™re on the Beardy Folk line up for June so Iโ€™ll check โ€˜em out there.

Her connections meant she opened for big artists to my knowledge & didnโ€™t really do the small venue circuit. Not in the Midlands anyway.

Not sure it will replace Chuck as the annual April request. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

She hasnโ€™t really toured a lot in the last 8 years. Shame as so much to offer.

Definitely looking forward to catching her in Feb when she tours the record. The current solo shows havenโ€™t been convenient.

Last saw at Ramblinโ€™ Roots a year or so ago I think. Similar to when I first saw her & amazing to listen to live.

Youโ€™re missing the point in not recognising that traditionally Christmas football was about family. Many relatives went to their only game of the season on Boxing Day. A better point would be that that was then & now itโ€™s really just another league game at the top levels.

Absolutely. Saw the other Brandy last night. Another one nailing the art of song.

Change that to ten tracks.

Hi Richard any chance of playing the acoustic version of Larkin Poeโ€™s Little Bit. It was performed this way live this week & a reminder if you strip away all the blues rock stuff they are still a great roots act. Cheers

Four tracks in & not a foot out of place so far.
