Most federal politicians don’t actually get those perks. Tony Abbott only gets them before he was elected before Howard brought in the changes in 2004

I agree this is bad. Ex parliamentarians shouldn’t have to work after retiring. They should travel around talking about how great democracy is. Removing their pensions makes this less likely though

I once had the honour of holding the actual Godzilla toy. I asked if I could have a photo with it but then Shaun thought I wanted him to be in the photo too and then the person with the camera took video by accident. Overall very disappointing.

It’s odd that the rest of the tape plays fine in SP but the “home video” section that’s been taped over it has the speed switching playback issue

No it’s a PAL tape. I tried switching the VCR and DVR settings to NTSC (as I have digitised NTSC tapes before with this setup) and it still has the same issue. I’d like to try it on a VCR with a manual speed setting I could manually set it to SP

I’m not sure what sort of camera was used. Appears to be mid 1990s so I doubt it was a camera that took full sized VHS tapes. More likely it was recorded on VHS-C or Video8 and then transferred to this particular VHS tape and forgotten
