It’s infuriating to me that I need to evaluate media to determine whether it’s AI generated now. The great “time saver” technology wastes incalculable time and energy for people who want to retain their grasp on reality

The Coalition’s decision to abandon Net Zero this week and their sad dedication to coal-fired power stations reminded me of this ‘Rooftop Coal’ interview sketch I wrote for Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell 3 years ago. Superbly delivered by Francis Greenslade. #auspol

Went to a major retailer today. Guy at the register asked if I wanted a receipt. I said no thanks. Then as I was leaving a security guard stopped me & didn’t seem to believe I had just paid for the items I was carrying. If you need a receipt to leave the store, why give me the option not to get one?

‘Add Sound to Your Movies’ by Mike Kent (1979). I’ve never worked with film before or even audio tape beyond making a few mix cassettes. So it was eye opening to read this and discover just how limited, tedious, fiddly and expensive it used to be to make a simple home movie with sound…
