Today's charity shop purchase was this rather lovely volume. Published in 1952 and featuring many illustrations of locations around Scotland. Worth paying a little more than I usually would have for a charity shop book.

Someone at work just commented that "the guy from Goodfellas" was Joe Pasquale and now that's all I can think about.

I'd never heard of this film before, but for only £1 thought i would give it a go. After all, there's not a lot of films about the Korean War out there.

Spotted this ghost sign in Wishaw on what was until recently a breach of Santander. The N&P clock has also been hidden for years behind a sign.

@hellohistoria.bsky.social fairly sure I've seen you mention these types of iron graves before. Spotted these on a visit to the Southern Necropolis in Glasgow today. The four sided one is currently being used as an ant farm.

Move you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Wars, Star Trek, lord of the rings or marvel.

My charity shop find of the day today was a second edition copy of the First World War Roll of Honour for Arbroath and District. An excellent volume, with photos of almost every one of the fallen. Digital copies can be found but nice to get my hand on an original, and a bargain at £20.

For 50p I thought this was worth a punt. It's Alec Guinness and Jack Hawkins, that's a good sign for a start...

Interesting little snippet found in a 1920s edition of the HLI Chronicle. There is no-one from the Highland Light Infantry commemorated by the CWGC, wonder if they ever identified this casualty?

Would you like to see a fairly damning report from a soldiers service record? Of course you would!
