It wa supposed to be cloudy but the sky was completely clear. I took a picture of Comet c/2025 A6 (Lemmon). It is said to be visible with the naked eye - I can't see it without binoculars. #astrophotography
Well, I did have my cheap camera with my 18-200 mm lens mounted on my cheap star tracker (iOptron).
So it was a bit more than just a "quick snap" . Without the star tracker the comet was just a green dot. People who have iPhones or Goggle Pixels often get better pictures than my setup...
I had a very clear sky this morning - I wasn't sure where Comet c/2025 A6 was so I took a photo of that area of the sky with my 18mm lens. I captured a tiny green dot left of the lower constellation Lynx. I might try again with a bigger lens or I will wait until later in October...
I looked at the actual pixels of the Satrun/Neptune photo before it was compressed and I could just make out Saturn's moon Titan... focus could have been better...
The last time I tried to get a photo of Saturn was Jan 9th, 2000. I held a 3 megapixel camera up to the eyepiece of my telescope.
I could see quite a bit of detail with my eyes but my photos never capture the details... I should try it again, Saturn is high and bright in the early morning.
