I know methods shouldn't define art but there isn't anything in this that really says pixelart to me.

Why the "?"?
Can't call it Pixelart personally, it was mostly Vivie working with a mouse doing the same they'd do on Drawpile, the only difference being the limited set of shades (which we could've made better since we had more colours to work with but couldn't be bothered to set up the palette)

Should mention that we did this without looking up reference, so excuse some odd properties of it.

Screen made the tan look much brighter IRL, hence why it's so yellow here.
