There’s no one better suited to dissect the comics career of the late great Keith Giffen than @michelfiffe.bsky.social.

Brian only had one shirt, and he wore it everywhere.

I had a whole plan to do more of these, but nope. Maybe one day.

A few years back I became briefly obsessed with the fact that DC’s SANDMAN and Marvel’s SLEEPWALKER, two very different comics about characters from the dream realm, were being published concurrently…these pieces were the result.

Seeing lots of Thanksgiving posts from US friends today, which of course makes me think of WKRP IN CINCINNATI, which of course makes me think of Jan Smithers as Bailey Quarters. Here’s my take on my first big TV crush, done a few years back.

Dynamo from T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents. I really need to get back in the habit of drawing *something* every day, may as well start here.

New work from @tonymcmillen.bsky.social is always exciting! In an age of soulless AI slop, nothing is more exciting to me than seeing art that could only come from the hand/mind/heart of a real human being, and Tony’s work is so singular and original that it could have only come from him.

I’m at a bit of an impasse these days, trying to capture the energy & immediacy of my rough layouts in my final finished pages, which always wind up more carefully controlled. If I can fuse these two sensibilities I might be on to something.

I made my DISCO RIPPER comic in the spirit of early ‘80s slasher flicks like TERROR TRAIN, PROM NIGHT, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. Perfect reading for the spooky season, it’s available at @strangeadventures.bsky.social and through the link in my bio.

Heads up Dartmouth folks, our neighbour’s cat Egon is missing. He’s very sweet and super friendly—hopefully he’s just out exploring the neighborhood. If you’re in the area, please keep an eye out for him (he will very likely come running right up to you for skritches).

Kicked off spooky season last night with an old favourite that will, sadly, always be far too relevant.

James Downey’s appearance in One Battle After Another sent me seeking out the thing I best know him from, one of the all-time great SNL ad parodies.

A movie prop I would *love* to own is Jesse’s terrible painting of William H. Macy’s character Little Bill in BOOGIE NIGHTS.

Just a quick appreciation for this wonderful piece by artist extraordinaire and all-around swell guy @kellytindall.bsky.social, depicting the cast of my favourite movie, Joe Dante’s THE ‘BURBS.

More Colan-inspired Dracula. We gotta get back to this design one day, because his look in current Marvel continuity is questionable at best.
