This is a super preliminary #starterpack of #ExperimentalFilm
folks I've been able to find on BlueSky so far. If you're an experimental filmmaker, a film theorist, a distributor, gallery, or festival with an experimental focus, please let me know and I'll add you to the list! go.bsky.app/7UAchd8

I also jumped ship on Spotify right when they signed Joe Rogan. My 2024 was dominated by ELO, shamefully
There's a brand new review for my film “60 Second Thoughts: Volume 3” from film critic and Guggenheim Fellow, David Finkelstein. Here's the link to the article on his Lake Ivan Film Journal Substack: open.substack.com/pub/lakeivan...

#UselessWisdom returns - enjoy...

"Shadows are insults in waiting."
I know, right? I guess they had to assume anyone buying the super 8 version had probably seen the full movie.
When I was a kid in the 1970’s, there was no VHS, but they did have an abridged super 8mm version of Star Wars at my branch library. I pained the staff every day to run it for me over and over again. It was only twenty something minutes but I loved it. (Image credit: originaltrilogy.com)
The movie was no picnic on the psyche either!
And Beetlejuice 3 will be 3tlejuice

#UselessWisdom on a Monday.

"For every injustice, a prayer. For every godsend, an umbrella."
At what point do random events pile up and become cosmically intentional?
But who is he, really?
Can it do the sound of one hand clapping?
At one point Buffalo’s cable access studio got shut down and the cable company wasn’t providing funds (as they were required to) to open a new one. So every week we did a show on the steps of city hall to protest and interview regular folks. It was kind of guerrilla TV / art /advocacy.
Despite growing up in #buffalo I didn't know Tony Conrad super well - but we did work on a cable access TV show together called "Studio of the Streets" from the steps of city hall. I do love this wonderful book, "Introducing Tony Conrad: A Retrospective" edited by Cathleen Chaffee. #ExperimentalFilm

New episode on THURSDAY!
@dominique.willoughby, current president of @cinedocpfc returns to the show to discuss his career in film and video. Fascinated by hypnotic phenomena as well as pre-cinema artefacts, his films are mesmerising and energetic. Join us on Thursday #experimentalfilm #podcast
Hi Caspar - so glad you’re here. I have been trying to find other filmmakers who are joining Bluesky so it’s wonderful to meet you. I hope Sixpack film joins - RE:VOIR is here and Black Zero. I hope you’re well!
Cool - looks like we found a bunch of the same folks, but there are some differences. The more the better!
I wanted to celebrate the amazing #ExperimentalFilm writing of Scott Macdonald. I missed him by a few years when he was at Bard College, but I’ve always loved his essays and interviews. If you haven’t read him, look him up. Lots is great books and collections.

Hi Javier- glad you’re here!!
