Except that the article explains the negative feedback was a reaction of fake news spreading in fandom that the movie would be a parody in the style of Jetsons or Police Academy.

If that is all the evidence you have it seems the topic is concluded.
That sounds like some very wild claim. Do you have any sort of evidence there ever was any fan involvement in any of these concepts?
Agreed. But that kinda shows the issue with many contemporary Americans. They are only willing to resist when it's comfortable, when it's clean, when there is no risk for themselves.

But that's not how resistances work, is it. And it sure isn't how they succeed.
Seems like USA are transitioning from current state of 'Germans of the '30s' to the next evolutionary stage of 'German's of the '40s' even faster than the most pessimistic so called 'doomers' expected, because this smells like a person tortured to death just because he was a foreigner.
🧵This horrific story is being reported all over Latin America, but not the US.

Randall Gamboa, a Costa Rican, was deported from the US in such a critical health condition it required an ambulance flight.

He then died upon his return to Costa Rica after being detained for 8 months by DHS.
I didn't have any idea there is such a profession as 'art crime' expert and now I think it sounds like the coolest job ever.
I feel like refitting Centaur class made it extremely similar to a hero ship from (better unnamed) fan project, which I always liked, visually, so I think it's a good thing it was 'repatriated' back from cursed fan production back into an officially licenced product like Resurgence.
Outside of US nobody really cares about GDP of the country since in most cases it doesn't reflect the quality of life of citizens of that country. The world doesn't care about US economy. Foreigners look at average income and some are envious, also at costs of living and they're not envious one bit.

Some myths about the economy are like zombies — they just keep crawling back. Here are the three that eat at me the most. https://youtu.be/j3vbYwZecFU?si=ru-0S4-LC-_N1C5m

That sounds like a story that deserves to be shared. Has it been reported in some media. Do you have links we can share?
Idk, I haven't been following events in this particular area, but if it follows the same pattern as in most other places then local law enforcement are probably instructed to assit ICE with their operations. Cops are part of the problem, not a solution.
They are lucky? You expect they would be punished if they actually killed him? Since when has there ever been any sort of accountability for these people?

"According to his running club, the man, who is a U.S. citizen, was returning from a team run when agents pulled him out of his vehicle, tackled him to the ground and kneeled on top of him, allegedly breaking six ribs and causing internal bleeding"

Cops are scared of ICE. Seriously scared. More than anyone else. I wouldn't expect much help from them.
You can't even blink, you have no idea what just happened, you just know somebody started beating you, you can't see any faces, nobody identifies themselves. If you strike back in reflex, in automatic self-defense, it becomes assault. How are people supposed to know they are being arrested?
That's a lovely thought. But...

...in many cases, recently, people got attacked by ICE agents out of the blue, passersby that just stumbled upon some altercation found themselves suddenly on the ground, assaulted by one or many armed masked individuals.
Aren't people supposed to take some IQ tests before getting a sheriff star or something like that? Because it sure looks this one bought it in toyshop.
I understand. What we are missing in shows like Disco are dedicated "character development episodes" introduced to Trek in the 3rd season of TNG and it's no coincidence that's where the average quality got much better. Because ultimately, for most Trek fans, love for characters beats storytelling.
Oh, okay, I misunderstood. Sorry. Lots of people are demanding out there. I wish they were wishing instead. Like you.
The process they need to undergo in order to be able to claim their refusal is in accordance to military code is not simple, not easy and could be hostile. Rather than risk consequences of not being able to prove validity of their refusal, most would just carry out the order, unlawful or not.
Strange that it's only always ever the retired ones that speak up. Never those in active service.
What exactly happens now with that one survivor?
That demand makes as much sense as demanding a silent movies to make a comeback. The entire industry changed so much that is it basically impossible. Criticism cannot be founded on reality denial.
