So one guy who has been credibly accused of sexual abuse & another who’s admitted to it & was found libel for it in civil court, decided they needed to lecture a room full of decorated military officers on what it means to be a “man?” Got it.
I grew up in a fundamentalist environment. I recognize the dangers of fundamentalism regardless of where it comes from. Right, left, worthy cause or not, I’m repulsed by zealotry and extremism. They’ve never led to the building of a civil or just society. Never. And I’ll reject them at every turn.
So, Jimmy Kimmel’s show has been reinstated. Turns out, fighting back with our pocketbooks & by raising our voices was quite effective. I realize this was a very clear case of governmental overreach, but I wish we could have put pressure on CBS to do the same for Colbert.
Just a friendly reminder, we live in a democratic republic. That’s a type of democracy. That means we elect our leaders. They are elected to be public servants and representatives on behalf of the voters. They are not our “rulers.“ We are their bosses — not the other way around. #DontDrinkTheKoolaid
Charlie Kirk’s death is revealing an underlying panic within MAGA. They capitalized on his death so quickly because their bench is shockingly shallow. What young, charismatic leaders do they have now? Charlie was the future. He drew in young people. All they have now is more authoritarianism.
There is clear statistic that says if even 3.5% of the population pushes back against authoritarianism, it cannot take hold. DO NOT assume that you are powerless. We have the ability to fight back in this moment. SPEAK UP. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. STAY LOUD, and STAY LIFTED.
I genuinely want to hear the hard-core MAGA folks justify why they think this Jimmy Kimmel firing is warranted. Shutting down free speech is entirely un-American. Aren’t they supposed to be the biggest “patriots“ of them all? It seems they should be more outraged about this than anyone.
Charlie Kirk regularly demeaned & insulted people like me. But his murder is still heartbreaking. 2 children are w/o a father. He was rich & influential, but 125 people who weren't were also killed yesterday to no fanfare. His death won't change the convo on gun laws. Heartbreaking & pointless.
Was anyone else surprised to see how vehemently and openly the crowds & speakers at Charlie Kirk's last Turning Point conference lashed out at the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein files? No? Just me? Okay.
Did Charlie Kirk’s shooter come from a fatherless home? Was Charlie Kirk’s shooter trans? Was Charlie Kirk’s shooter in a gang? I don’t think his wife and children care about any of that. They’d be a lot happier tonight if the person who shot him hadn’t had access to that gun in the first place.
