Sorry for the loss. They are indeed, members of the family.

That was a good program, loved it.

I haven't done it either.

Marie was one of a kind, she could do it all.

Well, I've seen comics self destruct before, but that was because of bad editorial, bad stories and bad art.

That was a good month: FF 116, Thor 193, Cap 143, Hulk 145, Spidey 101 and many others

Could have been so he could do Hulk 145, which was a giant size issue.

Burned the prints right off my fingertips, even through the slab

John Severin inking Herb went together like bacon & eggs 😎

Vin, I believe Dick Ayers handled the pencil duties for those two issues

Oooooo, sweet Citizen westerns!

One of all time favorite issues of the FF. That android absolutely kicked their asses

Paul is a good guy. We were chatting about his run in comics, and when he worked on Hulk, it was the only time in a 30 year career that he asked for a book and got it. Otherwise he's just done what's been asked of him.

Speaking of GI Joe, Paul Pelletier had some amazing Joe pages for sale in Albany in June. Amazing work and very well priced. So, of course, I bought Swamp Thing 😁

I think the current run is/was trying to get back to the groundwork that Immortal Hulk put down and play off that. Immortal Hulk, to me, was one of if not THE greatest Hulk run ever. And I've read 'em all.

I thought you were referring to meeting John Byrne. Were you?

My friend met him a few years ago, said he was the opposite of all the bad things he'd read.

We can't & won't like everything. Hulk is my all-time favorite, but the book has had some low points that I didn't care for and didn't buy. Totally Awesome Hulk immediately comes to mind. Bought issue #1 and bailed.

And that is a fair point. When I think Alpha Flight, the only AF is written and drawn by John Byrne. When he left, that book lost all its' magic.

I started reading X-Men in 1984 with issue 175, I tapped out in the early 200s. Tried again about 2 years later, out in 6 months. The monthly recap pages that Marvel does are helpful nowadays to new fans and help make some sense of what they are jumping into.
