With the CSS if() function and range syntax in style queries, I created a simplified version of a slider that changes its background color based on its progress.

The initial version used a custom CSS @function.

Lit is great 🔥
People so often don't get that Lit isn't a framework, but it really helps understand our design decisions.

For example: Why doesn't Lit have an opinionated reactivity system for generic data, like Signals?
The point is that the WhatsApp native app provides good offline support by providing the best UX possible for that situation. This is something that web apps can do as well but instead, they usually don't work offline at all.
Would it make sense to have some CSS way to style an element based on the mouse position relative to that element?
So for example, an element would increase in height while the mouse moves closer to the bottom of that element or decreases in height while it moves towards its top.
I can’t even begin to explain how utterly useless the Google Cloud Translation API is on web dev docs that are translated to Dutch.

It literally translates all technical English terms that we use verbatim to Dutch.
It’s comical at best.
Then it’s probably a “skill issue” on my side 😉 I’ll have a look
I do notice an issue in Firefox 144 where document.startViewTransition() works only once. Some full-screen pseudo-element stays on the page, blocking interaction with all other elements. When I navigate to another tab and back, it works again once.
It's fixed in 146:

It seems I did a pretty bad job at proofreading that article. Fixed with the help of Grammarly.
Thanks again for reporting.

TIL when an iOS device is connected to a macBook, click the inspect tool icon in Safari Web Inspector, then tap an element on the screen, the Elements panel reveals that element.

I always thought it was a useless tool since the screen doesn't show the iPhone screen, but now I know how it works!
