Bummed to read that (Space) Ace Frehley died today... Love or hate 'em, KISS transcended being a band and became iconic characters that are larger than life. Needless to say, Ace's unique look and sound were no small contribution to that legacy. ✨

Watching all of the original Universal Monster movies in chronological release order really feels like a shared universe, even before they start crossing over ("Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man"). They were definitely ahead of their time in that regard. Crazy they lost the formula in our current age.

Stumbled upon this album by Full Flower Moon Band recently and it's been in pretty steady rotation since. Aussies always seem to do it right. 👌 Also, there's a Bandcamp Friday coming up, so support independent should you feel so inclined.

Yes! Nobody else would touch it, so Toho just said, "Guess it's supposed to be this guy's movie" 🤷. Several scenes, especially in the front half of the movie, totally have the look and feel of advertising from that era.

Absolute cinema. 👌 I love that the Director consulted his 11-year old daughter to write the story based on what she thought would be scary. He totally captures that childlike wonder. It's especially enjoyable with a theater full of people.

When I say I watch Anime, I'm generally referring to something like "Dirty Pair", or - probably more accurately - an OVA that barely (if ever) escaped the VHS era, like "Fight!! Iczer-One" or "Hyper Combat Unit Dangaioh". 🤓 Since this is 2025, most folks assume I mean "Chainsaw Man" or "Dandadan". 🤷‍♀️
