The typical first-time home buyer is now 40 years old? I'm not buying it. The National Association of REALTORS® conducted a survey and almost nobody responded. I don't dispute the results. I dispute the method.

This feels like a move to diminish the importance of FICO.
Effective November 16, 2025, Fannie Mae no longer requires conventional mortgage borrowers to have a minimum credit score of 620.

It's Election Day. Would you move to a city because you like its politics? We ranked U.S. cities by job openings, age group density, tax rate, nightlife, and more... and then threw a filter on for politics.

See the spectrum - from Very Democrat to Very Republican.

It's not what the Fed does that matters, it's what the Fed says. A near-violent reaction in MBS this afternoon. Tough break for rate shoppers.
The Federal Reserve voted to lower the Fed Funds Rate by 0.25 after its Oct 2025 meeting. It also noted that the jobs market is weak, inflation pressures are climbing, and it remains committed to keeping prices stable.

Wall St reacted swiftly. Mortgage rates will open much higher Thursday morning.

This article "What determines mortgage rates" is terrific for the reasons it specifically DOESN'T provide, such as:

1. The Federal Reserve
2. The President of the United States
3. The Number of People Who Told Me This Week "I Should Have Bought Bitcoin In 2015"
