Text: Days upon days of fleeing with no rest in sight...

This forest has become a refuge
compared to the fate I’d face if
the king’s army catches me. I’d
rather be alone than serve a
kingdom that would force me to
take the lives of others.
Here I stand alone on
another dark night. I feel
like I am solely understood
by the moon, the stars, and
the ocean that meets this
land.

If I am to remain free, I must remain unseen.
But I’m not sure if adventuring completely
alone is the answer. While I know there is
great risk if anyone discovers me,
I secretly wish that more than just
the eyes of the forest would see me.

I love this place. I feel so hidden from
others, but sometimes I still long to
explore.
When I look out to the ocean, I crave
adventure. Hell, sometimes I even crave
someone to adventure with.
But alas, I hesitate. I was taught
that human beings can abuse magic if
it falls into the wrong hands, so I
remain cautious. Even though the
village nearby is pleasant, I still do
not know who I can trust.

don’t believe gatekeeping magic is the
answer, and it is this sliver of hope
that allows me to still long to share
the magic of the forest with
someone.
And in all of this, I know that the
more connected the world is, the
stronger pure magical forces can be.
And perhaps the less alone I will be

Every time l'd watch that one scene in Fiddler where the daughter gets isolated for who she loves l'd cry
And I never knew why
Now, I know it's be cause that's going to be me if I don't marry a fucking guy
Now don't tell me I didn't even try
I tried so hard not to be this way it's not like I actually have a say
If it were up to me I'd choose to be straight
That way I can make you proud and continue my fate
Marry some Russian Jewish guy that you wouldn't hate
But it's not actually up to me Don't you See
I'm not doing this on purpose to hurt you
I really want to be a good Jew
But i'm not and I guess I have to be okay with that
At least you didn't kick me out of the house like some unwanted rat
Go pray for me-like that's going to make me change Maybe you can make an exchange For a granddaughter that isn't so strange
I hope you know I love you Hopefully one day you'll come through

Dear journal,
I’ve been exploring my personality and my queer identity. It’s 3am and I can’t stop thinking. I keep wondering what about me is real, or what society puts on me. Recently, I’ve been stared at in the women’s bathroom. People hide their kids from me and it makes me feel gross. I love my feminine side, but I wish I understood myself more. I feel pressured to develop my identity as if it’s expected from me. I don’t owe anyone anything, but I do owe it to myself to feel comfortable in my own skin-like the euphoria I feel from getting a new haircut. This poem captures my raw emotions.

Yet another restless night.
No sleep in sight.
I lie awake with the thoughts racing.
It’s like I’ve been running with the
thoughts chasing.
Tonight, they finally caught up.
So, there was a lot of build up.
Now, I’m left here With everything turning to high gear.
I begin to question who I am.
But, all I’ve learned is that I’m a scam.
I like to think that I am mysterious But that thinking is delirious.
Sometimes I’m reserved.
But, that’s not always true when I’m
observed.
I can be outgoing.
But, that’s only when my other traits
are forgoing.
I wonder how I am perceived.
Usually, it’s the version of me that I
already conceived.
I am who I need to be in that instance.
But, that always creates some distance.
I don’t know myself there are too
many versions.
My personality is going through
dispersions.
I wish I knew what version I
actually wanted to be.
Maybe that way I wouldn’t be so
lonely.
Until I figure it out
I lay here with doubt
about who I should be tomorrow
always filled with the same sorrow
of forever being alone
with no one personality to call my own
