Nice time to be up a mountain somewhere.

Scene from a Trump protest earlier this year.

He has to go. He must be removed from office to save what little dignity and TAX MONEY we have left so we can start fixing this.

I SO want to try to sneak into a beach scrum some day to cuddle a sea lion. It will smell horrible and I’ll probably get my face torn off or lose an ear or something, BUT JUST LOOK AT THEM! 😱🥰

Found another video where you get a great view of the baby orca!

Give it a sec to see Thing 2. Just a couple others, floatin’ around, eating mollusks, just enjoying being alive.
But we just HAD to go on and choose the tree of knowledge…

I love humpback whales. They’re familial, curious, playful, intelligent… Their vomit doesn’t smell nearly as delightful as a sperm whale, but they’re a danged good whale.

For real on the sperm whale thing. Look up “ambergris.” Fancy perfumes are made of sperm whale vomit.

Humpback whales! Caught a great fin wave right at the beginning.

Sea lion flash mob. This video is from the year the sea lions took over Monterey, both marinas, almost the entire beach. Not sure why, but they stayed weeks and weeks longer this year.

This is a baby Ocean Sunfish, one of the weirdest fish around. They like to wave their top and bottom fins around. It’s how they swim. Super weird.

This one was about the size of a dinner plate, but they grow to the size of a small SUV. Huge.

This is the kind of stuff that you REALLY find in Portland. It’s a weird place. Not a war zone.

Stunning sunsets in Monterey.

Here’s another example of otters digging a boat. Different time, same boat.
September 30, 2025 at 2:41 PM
Otters like to nap on boats that have a low, flat part to haul out on. This one was sleeping here every morning when I walked past for work for weeks and weeks.

So dainty. Lifting that back pinky and everything. 😅

I have LOTS of sea lion videos. They’re a buncha clowns.

ORCAS! This was my first time seeing them in person outside of SeaWorld as a child. Watch for the baby! Pops up a couple times.

Killer whales indeed. Just killer.

I thought it was so cool seeing the feet through the clear waters of Monterey Bay. The video is about a year old at this point. This bird might be injured.

I’d be a lot better at social media if I knew the species of the things I post. 😅

The idea of living on a boat was born of necessity. Coastal California became too expensive for me following a life change, but renting a slip is less than half the price of a studio apartment in Monterey. Landing an affordable boat that came with a slip was the real trick.

September 22, 2025 at 5:34 PM
But, big enough is big enough, so living in a smallish plastic tube feels wonderful to me. The ocean as my backyard, otters for neighbors. The slip next to me has a MAGA flagged boat, but I’ve never actually seen those people, so I can’t complain about those ones specifically.

This is my sailboat, the Enchanted Lady. Check her out! I’ll post interiors next.

At 33’ long, she’s JUST big enough for comfort for me. I’m 6’2”, and standing inside my head just barely has clearance, but I can stand upright without slouching.

Whales. Humpback whales hang in Monterey Bay nearly year-round. This video is from a professional whale watching tour, but I’ve done whale watching on my own boat as well.

Hard to get a good video while steering a sailboat near 10 or 20 other boats all trying to get close but not too close.

FREE! FREE! Frog free at last!
Thank God this tiny frog free at laa-aaast!
September 21, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Just found a tiny frog smaller than my fingernail. Trapped in a sunken cement patio.

The next video is after I scooped the little bud out of there back into its home.

It’s not only sea creatures you sea when living on a sailboat! Sometimes, you get to see the armed services commandeering public property while wasting taxpayer dollars on poorly thought out publicity stunts!

It’s the gel, the gel with the MIDAS TOOOOOOUUCH!!!
