NOLA. Look for me on AOL IM and ICQ.
There really is no torture like staring at your dirty plates, desperate for the check, and your server has suddenly disappeared for 15 minutes.

Mac and cheese has no place on the Thanksgiving table.

The word "inept" comes to mind.

I kind of get (but still dislike) the various team jerseys. But different colored helmets? Do people buy helmets?

What the fuck is this shit?

There's a guy on a bike riding around the Quarter selling boudin out of a cart. Love it.

Wearing my Morstead jersey (#6) to the Saints game today but now I realize most people will think it's a Shough jersey. Ahh well.

Giants get the *really full* Jameis experience.

Beignet Fest followed by Po-Boy Fest feels like NOLA satire, but it isn't. I remember the Levee or some humor site making a joke about the highly anticipated upcoming "Fest Fest."

Subject: The You-Know-What

I'd like to remind you that you are NOT to inquire about the origin of the YOU-KNOW-WHAT. Thanks for your great work on the new Skynet processors. Your work is really going to light up the world!

Have the day off tomorrow. What's a good NOLA lunch spot? Thinking maybe Stein's...

Sorry, but that Parkway Thanksgiving poboy looks way too big and heavy. Glad it's for a good cause but I've never wanted to eat it.

Well, the Batture is just lovely. What took us so long to do this?

Has anyone heard about Banana Ball tix? The lottery closed 10/31.

I don't know why a politician needs to say anything at all about Dick Cheney. It's like Chap Stick saying they believe Black Lives Matter or Chuck E. Cheese wishing everyone a happy Memorial Day. Just...be quiet?

We're in a bad place when the bulwarks of democracy are Teen Vogue and Jimmy Kimmel.

Dear phone bankers/campaign volunteers,

I know you're working off a script, but when you cold call me, can you say, "Hey, do you mind if I talk to you a little about XXX?" instead of just talking AT me, without pause, for several minutes straight? I'm instantly turned off.

Sincerely,
Voter

Still dumb, but I find the list did have some surprising additions and omissions. Commanders, for example, not making the list.
The NOLA Michelin star thing is so sketchy and so dumb. I'm sure Billy Nungesser paid the Michelin people a bunch of taxpayer money to get them to come do it, all in the name of "tourism." It's not like people don't already come here in droves for the food.

I'm still kind of sad about the Jays and I only just jumped on the bandwagon when the Series started.

And if you liked that sports drama, get ready to watch the Saints shit the bed again tomorrow!

I just want to go to sleep.

NOLA dad moment: wondering all afternoon if the 9 year old birthday party at 6 PM will have booze...

Saw some people and their kid with fake, clunky old school surveillance cameras strapped to their heads that said "PROJECT NOLA." The folks said they're dressed as "the scariest thing in NOLA." Well played.
