On December 9, students and staff from universities across the country will protest in Amsterdam against cuts to higher education. Staff is covered by the right to strike. Students are not covered by this, but TU/e says they are free to participate unless they have mandatory classes.

An academic staff member has filed a lawsuit against TU/e, arguing her temporary contract was wrongfully not converted into a permanent one after 5 years. She says TU/e failed to communicate the measurable targets she needed and also fears her pregnancy and illness may have affected her evaluation.
