I don't know what song it is, but I do know that my phone is going to ring about two seconds from now.
It's Monday night, and nothing has pulled me away yet, so I'll be streaming more of Star Trek: 25th Anniversary in about an hour. Interestingly enough the 25th Anniversary of that game happened seven years ago. I expect to be wrapping it up tonight, so join in the fun.

Oh, hey, it's my Affiliate Anniversary.

Yeah, it's a totally made-up holiday that doesn't even sell any greeting cards, but it has been about a year since I started on Twitch and I guess I'm still doing it. Woo.

Join my tonight at 7 Eastern for silliness and Gloomhaven.

a man playing a trumpet and a man playing guitar
Alt: A scene from the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Deja-Q" (Season 3, Episode 13. Now you know.) Q (John DeLancie) is playing trumpet with a Mariachi band while Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) looks on in annoyance.

There's a Strange New World episode (S03E04) where Paul Wesley... sortof plays William Shatner on the Holodeck. During the final scene he tries the Riker Maneuver and destroys the prop Captain's chair.

The episode was directed by Jonathan Frakes.
Still a great game. I revisited it a while back while I was combing through my collection and it holds up well.

There have been a lot of theories about Twitch viewership and what Twitch is (or isn't) counting as a result of the view bot update.

We now have an update that I think tries to answer the question "What is a Lurker and what isn't?"

What is and What Isn't a Lurker on Twitch? (Viewbot Update)
YouTube video by Zach Bussey

This is good to know, and something I have been trying to find any kind of official confirmation on for a while now.
I thought I'd share some recent transparency as well as reminders regarding lurkers for those who didn't see it:
- lurkers generally don't count if they have 4+ stream tabs open
- watching with a 3rd party extension may cause you to not count as a view
- Ad blocker viewers may cause fluctuations
And then turned it upside down while serving it.

And Every Day has been Halloween about 15,000 times since Ministry released that song.

Even the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack is old enough to drive, drink, and hold a seat in the US Senate.
In other news, I had a fun game night. @maerchen1313.bsky.social played some Mario Kart, I pulled some rabbits out of hats in Gloomhaven, and it was great to see so many friends coming by to join in. I'll see you all next time!
I had transferred, restored, rebuilt, and reinstalled almost everything, but forgot about that.

Oh well. If nothing falls apart live in front of an audience, where's the fun in building it in the first place?

Anyway, it was fun, it's done, and now I don't have to do it again.

(fin)
I finally put the final pieces together with about ten minutes to spare before I had said I was going to stream, so *qualified yay* there. I was feeling pretty good about it until the very end, when I brought up the new final credits scene I had been working on... and it was in the wrong font. (6/)
That led to me recovering and reinstalling stuff that I really shouldn't have had to even touch for most of the afternoon. I could claim that it was a "disaster recovery exercise" and that I had met my MTTR goals so it was a big success, but it lacked the *fun* of doing things the hard way. (5/)
I eventually decided that I was running out of time and couldn't take a deep dive into modern boot troubleshooting so I went with plan B -- Which is supposed to be plan A, but it's boring so I always skip it. I reinstalled the OS and restored from the backup.

*YAWN*

Bo-ring.

But it worked.

(4/)
Since I'm telling this story, you can guess the answer to that question. Nothing went right, the new drive image refused to boot and nothing I did could make it work.

Fortunately I could just put the original disk back in and pretend nothing had happened, but where's the fun in that? (3/)
