1/2 Today, we honor our relatives across the United States and Canada who were impacted by the Indian Boarding School system that forcefully took our children and attempted to assimilate them into their natural way of life.

We hold our survivors and ancestors closely and assure our support to them.

2/2 Part of healing is acknowledging the past, and legislation such as this, whose goal is to investigate the harm thoroughly, is a step in the right direction to encourage healing and accountability.

Today and every day, we honor Indigenous children lost to U.S. Indian boarding schools. CSVANW stands with survivors and families across Indian Country, wearing orange for the National Day of Remembrance. We carry their names forward. Every Child Matters! 🧡
