Hell there are non canon m/f ships that I like simply because the chemistry between the characters is that good! But there’s not many because more often than not, writers strike gold with a same gender pairing while saying ‘wow, a couple of besties!’

Also don’t get me wrong, there are hetero pairings I do like in things, I just think that most het pairings are extremely poorly written and lacking in chemistry, and the writers expect the audience to eat it up simply because “he was a boy, she was a girl, can I make it anymore obvious”
