Just finished the Shepherd King duology, and ohhh man did I *sob* over the Nightmare for most of the second book.

I don't even know why. And I don't want to try to figure it out because when I think about it, I start crying again.

Reading the Shepherd King duology gives me the most powerful desire to take the Nightmare's head into my lap and stroke him until he sleeps.

He just seems so bitter and angry and sad. The desire to stroke and soothe is so high.

I'm making candied citrus slices for the nurses for vet nurse week next week. The oranges and lemons are done; the grapefruit slices are still drying.

Came out pretty okay! I've never candied anything before, so it was a journey. But I've tried a few and not died, so should be good!
