Wondering how long you have to live in Minneapolis before you stop saying you’re from New York
NYT caption left out 2 important words.

As seen from escalator in Dublin airport earlier this week. Oh well.

In a grocery store in tiny Tryon, North Carolina and they’re playing Feed the Tree. Crazy.

@smith.senate.gov Here’s the numbers currently on your website and they are not all functional. Moorhead, Duluth, weird generic msg, Rochester goes straight to Verizon wireless error message.

And Inkwell, new independent bookstore in Marcy Holmes, also has a nice crowd! Actually more of a gathering space that also sells books.

New bookstore in my neighborhood! On East Hennepin in stupidly named HenCen apartments. Yay for street level retail too!

It's the time of year when the water coming out of the kitchen faucet is as cold as the water that's been sitting in the fridge all day. I am very much here for it.

This was a great read this morning as I grapple with why I’m putting off 2 relatively easy and probably worthwhile pursuits:

Why Can’t You Just Deal with It?
Often, it’s our most obviously necessary tasks that feel the most impossible.

Just a reminder that there is an idling ordinance in Minneapolis. You don't have to put up with people running their engines while they are parked. Call them out, even if the only result is that you let out a little anger for one brief shining moment.

Today I celebrate 20 years at a job I never I thought I'd stay at--a wonderful church filled with amazing people (who aren't on here.) I'm not even a Christian but I love this place and what they do so much. If you're super liberal & looking for a place to do make a difference, try a UCC church.

For the next week, at least, I would like my NYT home page to flip so that I land first on games, then recipes, then book and movie reviews, then celebrity profiles. And then when the sports news shows up I can quit reading and get back to work.

The line at the Quarry target cvs is insane. 30 people long? One person working the cash register. Everyone is being incredibly patient. But wtaf. I was here on a Sunday a while ago and the pharmacy was just straight up closed with no warning.
