I believe him when he says he hates nazis. I also believe he's a moron who has very little grasp on the ideological underpinnings of the ideology he claims to be fighting. Hastily covering the SS Totenkopf with a Germanic Fenris-wolf doesn't help his case. Again, I don't think he is aware.

The whole Platner SS-tattoo thing is a mess, and at best, Platner is severely uninformed on fascism, the ideology he claims (and I believe he believes himself) to be fighting, but what actually worries me is this paragraph from the Guardian article.

"The US military already has a policy that checks for extremist, racist and sexist tattoos, and Platner added that the Nazi connection never came up during security screenings."

Question to my international followers: I just came upon a German thread of self-described Zionist antifascists, some of whom both claim to oppose American imperialism *and* defend Israel's apartheid regime. Only in Germany, or do these people exist elsewhere? I'm fascinated and appalled.
