I’m a spouse, father, commercial banker, social democrat and anti fascist. I love critical theory, ideas, video games, and dogs, writing, hiking, and thinking. He/him I have two trans children so Fascists F-Off.
The folk on Bluesky are great but it oft feels like an echo chamber. I’d like to start engaging in respectful conversation about the future of the left. We need a vision beyond protecting the status quo to usher in a new regime. What are your thoughts of the vision inherent in this picture?

Maybe instead of texting me asking me for money 15 times a day the Democratic Party could be telling us all to peacefully get in the streets to protest the invasion of our cities? Our party feels broken and no where near able to meet the moment.

I’m 50 years old. I’ve been a democrat since before I could register as one. (Read as under 18.) Now I am seriously contemplating leaving the party because they are refusing to use what power they have to stand up. @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social ‘s op-ed today sums it up well.
