I get this a lot, and I'll venture a slightly less damning explanation. Lot of people think someone who gets shot could avoid it. "I would have simply explained to Officer Negligent Discharge that I was cool," etc. When they see a cop shoot a toy breed dog, they understand he's just a sociopath.

Because Americans care more about shooting dogs than shooting innocent poor people or minorities.

That one is my case and it's still the one that pisses me off the most.

Anyone who’s witnessed the bloodlust on display from normie Facebook Americans around reports of someone being mean to a dog will viscerally understand this
crinnian.bsky.social
This is genuinely one of those things EVERYONE agrees on. My last dog shooting case was in rural MO and the town was OUTRAGED. Imagine 65 year olds at the town meeting talking about how they don't need police if that's what they're gonna do.

I have long believed that we should be WAY more vocal about how police and ICE constantly murder dogs, and I think this is great messaging actually.

The reality is that you can mobilize a whole lot of usually tuned-out Americans around a “someone is being mean to hecking doggos” cause.

Thank you, I thought his name sounded familiar and thought, "Huh, isn't this old news by now?" Nope.

“I … met with the governor, met with the mayor, met with the chief of police, and the superintendent of the highway patrol. They’re all lying, and disingenuous, and dishonest people,” Noem said, because they wouldn’t back up her baseless claims that the streets were overrun with terrorists.

“Baby in her placenta” is pretty bad for a HHS secretary but it’s arguably worse for a guy with six kids. It’s impossible to not learn this stuff as a dad if you’re even remotely paying attention just once.

I know pulling this quote is borderline hackwork at this point but Jesus fucking CHRIST

If you believe, as I frequently do, that the right frequently projects about its own actions and aspirations, then the sale of the much-vilified Dominion Voting Systems to Trump allies should be a bit alarming.
jayshams.bsky.social
I've been wondering why Dominion Voting Systems suddenly reached settlements with Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and One America News.

Turns out, it's been purchased by a Republican-owned election tech firm that insisted on it, per Axios.

"Dear diary: My heart patters in anticipation of the judges voice, thus delayed from mine ears now by twelve minutes that feels like twelve years. In its stead, there is only the voice of Cisco, taunting me like Poe's Raven. Instead of 'Nevermore,' this bird squawks 'Waiting for your host to join.'"
