Stole this from a friend on another social meeja place - it's absolutely perfect...
I'm not a bookworm, I'm a bookdragon. Unlike a bookworm that reads like their little life depends on it, a bookdragon hoards books like treasure. I am a bookdragon with a large hoard of book-treasure.

I started Hunted by @radiomukhers.bsky.social when it came out but had to stop part-way through 😱 Having just restarted &finished, I can confirm its excellence - taut, terrifying, &more timely with every passing day. I can feel the rage fuelling it, but also the deep emotions. Bravo!

Cover of paperback edition of Hunted by Abir Mukherjee - red lettering on a yellow background with a giant timer image, the top a lone figure walking on the "sand" flowing down and the bottom sculpted into a cityscape. Eye-catching and encapsulates the book's urgency beautifully.

I finished this from @robertcrais.bsky.social a few days ago - I love the Cole&Pike series (the best male friendship in crime fiction) and this is a real gem for the 20th installment. Keeping a series fresh and relevant yet true to its origins is no easy task but Mr Crais is a master!

Cover of The Big Empty by Robert Crais - the name and title against a red sunset sky above a lonely road with city lights in the distance.

True neutral with a soupçon of chaotic good when circumstances dictate. I'd be chaotic neutral if I was desperate (but the leaf would have to be clean and dry!).

I've just finished this and can firmly say if you're looking for a smart, sharp, spooky read, this metafictional, multi-layered fairytale thriller full of heart by the marvellous @alexandrakbenedict.bsky.social should be next on your TBR! Fab. U. Lous.

I loved the polar bears in The Transcendent Tide by @dougjohnstone.bsky.social and this has me thinking of them and the potential in this headline... 😁🐻‍❄️

Books for the panel I chaired now signed; new Sarah Sultoon from @orendabooks.bsky.social, a snaffled copy of @davegoodman.bsky.social and one by Philippe Sands I bought after his riveting panel. My bags returning from @bloodyscotland.bsky.social were heavy! Thx to all the team for a great weekend!
Six books stacked in two piles of three, plus programme, pass and a copy of my Scotsman newspaper preview feature. Bloody Scotland, the aftermath!

Somewhat bleary this morning but still awake stupidly early for me, so another fuzzy Stirling sunrise pic for you on the last day of @bloodyscotland.bsky.social ...

Stirling sunrise, a little autumn mistiness creeping on, view out over the rooftops of the city centre. Last day of Bloody Scotland 2025 today, sob!

View from the apartment I'm staying in with friends, in the centre of Stirling. My bedroom window looks out onto the rooftops, and right now (0830) it's a fine, sunny autumn morning.

Hello again Stirling and @bloodyscotland.bsky.social !

Foyer of Stirling's Golden Lion hotel, with crime scene tape across the window of the bar, and the white outline (tape rather than chalk) of a dead body on the floor... Suitably crime fiction festival-y vibes!
