Are there any paint-happy bastards there?

No I think Peter Gallagher has feed all his strips into a Large Ham Model (LHM) and this is the result.

I would make a $400 million movie using the Starfox puppets.

Liquid Glass? No. Wooden Barn.
Screenshot of Microsoft BOB Gateway Shared Family Room section, which is kind of like a homepage that's a cartoon of a barn.

In the tech world, it's always time to play a round of Predator, Pal or Parasite.
Screenshot of Microsoft GeoSafari section. It's an animal quiz called "Predator, Pal, or Parasite?" and it has a picture of a leech and a human.

Oh you have an AI agent trading Doge? Well I get financial advice from Rover.

Why do I need AI to write for me when I have Microsoft BOB? Two minutes in and already I have a letter of complaint to get someone fired. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZegW...

“Don’t dig any graves.”
Screenshot of a Bluesky post that reads:
“Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves. One for practice and the other one is the "main" grave.”
Followed by a reply from an unwitting rando that reads:
“Or, maybe let that stuff go. The person who hurt you has moved on. You are eating the poison hoping the other person dies. Move on and stop allowing that person and his/her actions to rent space in your head. Don't dig any graves. Just be light and polite if you see them in public.”

It's Portfolio Day, sir. It's *always* been Portfolio Day.

RIP Drew Struzan. I was lucky enough to meet him a few times at Disney. He came in and helped give critique to the art department at Disney Publishing. He was so nice, but definitely didn't hold back - he absolutely knew what he was talking about. A creative genius. gizmodo.com/drew-struzan...

Common Side Effects is a bad trip huh

I saw it in bits and pieces on TV (where it’s meant to be seen) but this time up on a big projector it was a whole other deal. Man, the production design on that truck is freakish. Most sinister vehicle since Herbie Goes Bananas.

AMISTAD is Oscar bait of the highest order. I was very much into this. The cast is packed with talent (McConaughey and Freeman are the tip of the iceberg) and the monologue by Anthony Hopkins is an all-timer. This should have solved racism and I’m sad that it didn’t.

Also Hep as Hap? Is that not confusing for anyone else? What does it all mean?
Richard Dreyfuss having his haircut in a burned down forest by Audrey Hepburn.

ALWAYS is a big expensive bonfire of total nonsense. I get what must’ve drawn Spielberg to it but honestly it would have worked better without the ghost life coach stuff going on. But flying firefighters taking risks and (sometimes) cheating death while being huge boomers? Give me that movie.

Guys is it weird to think The Color Purple is in fact Sinners without vampires???
crashlander.bsky.social
THE COLOR PURPLE was misery porn from start to finish and way too glossy for the events depicted. Spielberg was not the guy to make this (even though he gives it his all), and the slapstick moments are seriously misjudged. The performances are incredible though.

DUEL is probably the best TV movie ever made. Can’t believe it was directed by a 24 year old. I was still shitting in my socks at 24. It holds your attention the whole way through even though there isn’t that much there plotwise. Also Dennis Weaver thinks out loud like Garfield. Wonderful touch.

Been catching up on some Spielberg, mainlining the ones I haven’t seen and getting my sentimentality levels off the charts.
