Father of 3 feral goblins, husband to a saint, fiction dabbler, summoner of chuggy metal riffs, long-suffering Ottawa Senators fan, and DM to players who regret their life choices.
It’s funny how “Make America Great Again” was fine to borrow from Reagan… but quoting his speech on tariffs crosses a line.

But let’s be honest; there’s no good deal to be made with an admin that openly threatens our sovereignty.

Fascists fear facts.

The US political system feels corrupt by design:

- Gerrymandering
- Lobbying
- Super PACs
- Skewed representation
- The Electoral College
- Endless campaign season
- Two-parties
- Voter suppression

Lots of talk about the size of economies: GDP, growth, per capita income.

But we rarely ask what the economy is actually doing.
What it produces. What it incentivizes. Who it serves.

Imagine a country where the entire economy was burning tires.
Massive GDP. $100K per capita.

What if every Canadian had the skills to handle an emergency?

Imagine government-run training in:
- First aid & CPR
- How to respond to an in-home fire
- What to do during floods or wildfires
- Basic survival and evacuation skills

When people think of Canada, it’s often in comparison to the U.S.
They’re a melting pot; we’re a collage.
They prize individualism; we value community.
They have guns—we have universal healthcare.
They’re the global centre for media.
Guns. Prisons. For-profit everything.

There’s a five-alarm fire south of the border.

Suspending habeas corpus means ending due process — detaining people without trial or legal recourse. This is not normal.

The target is migrants now, but once a precedent is set, it can expand.

Why can’t life just be normal?

One of our biggest issues today isn’t disagreement — that’s always existed and always will. It’s a lack of curiosity.
To say, “I’m not curious” isn’t a win. It’s a loss. Not for me — but for you.
When we stop asking questions, we stop learning.

Thought Experiment for Former CAF Members:
Thanks for your service.
If the CAF offered short-term, tax-free contracts at your retired pay grade plus two to come back as a trainer and help clear the recruit training backlog, would you consider it?

Hot Take:
(This one’ll rattle some cages)

There should be an additional top income bracket:

Canadian median income × life expectancy.

In other words:
No one should earn in one year what the median Canadian makes in a lifetime of work.

Standing up to Trump isn’t about shouting back.
That doesn’t work—just ask Zelensky.
What does work?
Nuance, diplomacy, and strategic moves.
Coming into the White House hot and hostile wouldn’t change a thing.

One thing that always gets me is when Americans say:

“Canadians were there with us on D-Day.”

No. Americans were there with Canada.

Yes, the U.S. brought immense power to D-Day.

But the groundwork was laid by those already in the fight—since 1939.

Let’s talk about Canada’s national debt.

You’ve probably heard:

“It’s like a credit card, and the government maxed it out.”

But that’s not quite right. 🧵

Civics 101: A Conservative Plurality ≠ Automatic Government 🇨🇦

With an election likely, polls suggest the Conservatives might win the most seats—but not a majority.

🚨History is repeating itself—Is Canada next?🚨

Czechoslovakia in 1938 was strong, independent, and had powerful allies—until they weren’t. When the crisis came, they were abandoned. Sold out to keep the peace.

Sound familiar? Let’s break it down

Does anyone else feel like we’re living through the opening credits of a dystopian movie? Like, historians are going to look back at the last few months and say, 'Well, that was the moment things really started unravelling.'
Because, that’s the vibe I’m feeling lately.

I heard this morning on CBC, regarding their bankruptcy, that the Hudson's Bay Company was a popular department store... In the 1900s.

The kids have joked about the 1900s, but now in the news? That just hits differently.

I’m so tired of hearing Rubio & other rightwingers now claiming that if you’re on a green card you’re a ‘guest’ in this country. BS. You’re a lawful permanent resident. The clue is in the name. If someone is a permanent resident in your home, are they the same as the guests who come and go? Come on.

Big news—I’ve finished my novel Shadow of the Eagle! 🎉 A 1937 alternate history noir spy-thriller inspired by espionage, history, and the rise of American fascism. After years of mulling it over, I finally wrote it, and now I’m seeking representation. Fingers crossed—stay tuned!
