For years we have said the Republican goal was to privatize the VA, and Project 2025 underscored that. Now, the VA is about to transfer a trillion dollars worth of VA care to the for-profit sector, and ask that it only adhere to private health care industry standards of care.

It has been reported that there was a 57% decline in applications of professionals wanting to join the VA in 2025. If top doctors no longer want to join the VA because of the chaos of the Trump administration then it will have severe negative long term effects on the quality of veterans healthcare.
