Currently wishing I was loving The Glass Slide World more 😭
Interview With a Vampire meets The Thing, a dash of What We Do in the Shadows all set with Pride like vibes on a cruise ship. A short and unreliably narrated Halloween read #vampiresatsea #booksky #netgalleyarc
Oxford Soju Club is a Korean Diaspora take wrapped in a spy thriller that forces the characters to figure out who they are away from home. This book taught me that spy thrillers aren’t my vibe, but that I love seeing people grow and change #OxfordSojuClub #NetGalley

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.
got about 7 arcs to get through for October, flying too close to the sun and all that business
I got my early copy of Cry, Voidbringer today and yall. It’s so pretty. And signed. If you need want to make a difference with your dollars and you just cancelled Disney/Hulu, boy do I have the place for you #leftunreadbooks #booksky #cryvoidbringer #elaineho #binderybooks
2. The twist was wrapped and woven so well into the story. YA isn't my favorite group, but every now and then a YA book sneaks up on me and is better than I would expect and Showstopper definitely delivers.
1. I got this as an arc from NetGalley since I wanted to see if it would be a good fit for my students. It's a bit too much for a middle schooler, it is a murder mystery after all, but honestly I really liked this book for myself!
Showstopper by Lily Anderson was the unexpected win I needed to get out of my reading slump, and just in time for spooky season and Hispanic Heritage Month! #netgalleyarc #showstopper #lilyanderson #booksky
I read the arc for this and really liked it! I hope you like it too!
So far Showstopper is a theatre kids murder mystery dream. Why does the genuine theatre kid cringeℒ️ make this book better??? #netgalley #arc #showstopper
The world is going to shit and I’m in a reading slump BUT we have elote and carnitas flavored Pringles so I guess there’s some hope
Age gaps are so hit or miss, but to make the person literally underage???? 🀒
thank you for validating my dnf πŸ˜‚ what was your last dnf reason?
just dnf'd a book because the female main character was giving woman-written-by-man vibes, please tell me I'm not alone in doing 😭 #dnf #booksky #πŸ’™πŸ“š #menpleasespeaktowomenfirst
Trigger warnings for the book: suicide, infertility, and birth trauma
🧡3: in the way that women intimately understand and yet cannot always put into words. The one thing society says you're to do, and you can't, and the shame that follows. My feelings on this books are complex, but reading it was an experience I needed I think.
🧡2: Maybe for someone suffering from infertility this would feel like validation? It’s well written, and Oona is relatable in some instances and terribly unlikable in others. She’s so heartbreaking human. This book felt more horror than fiction for me, not in the traditional scare way but
🧡1: In Marrow, Oona wants two things, to be a mother and to rejoin her mother's coven and fertility center. Everything after that? Who cares. I don’t really know how to feel about this book. I don’t really know how to feel about this book. My own feelings about motherhood are complex and painful.
Marrow by Samantha Browning Shea, out on the 9th from Putnam, was a complicated read for me. Listed as fiction, this felt more like horror. See more in the 🧡πŸͺ‘ below #netgalley #marrow #booksky
Out There Screaming is hands down one of my top favorite anthologies, what anthologies have y’all loved?
What Hunger is a grisly coming of age story about a Viet-American girl trying to make sense of the world after a tragedy. Trigger warning for sa, but otherwise this was a good read! Right up there with Bones and All for me! #whathunger #catherinedang #netgalley #arc #booksky #πŸ“šπŸ’™
Life has been increasingly tricky lately so I’m embarrassingly late with this review BUT once I sat down to read I simply did not stop. Real life and the paranormal crash into each other in such a satisfying way that I was equally creeped out and satisfied by the end of this novel!
