Took a break and watched the short 1965 film "The Hand," from Czech animator Jiri Trnka.

This is a nightmarish little film about life under totalitarianism that initially strikes a whimsical tone and then gets progressively darker.

You saw it here first, folks: a rare Carol and the End of the World pre-vis painting that isn't actually in the show! 🤯 This was an earlier version of the Kroger in episode 1, which got more attention in terms of design/paint than you might expect.

I do want to quickly say that I really adore Long Story Short though. It's exactly the show I needed right now. I only have one episode left and I don't want to finish it.

When making an animated film, no detail gets overlooked. In this case it is Anastasia's hair. Of course it is a design but at the same time it must fit the character, which is a poor peasant girl who doesn't have time to go to a hair dresser. - Don
