the last thing i’ll say about the hanger title discourse is i don’t think people are upset that he wasn’t champion for 3 years or mad because he should never lose. they just wanted a story while he was champion before the loss that was as compelling as the ones told when he’s chasing the title.

Theres a lot of real patronising takes going on here around Hangman losing the title. You'd think it was so wrong to want the guy to have a meaningful longer term story after his chase to get it took forever both in kayfabe and irl.

I love the guy but I have zero interest in a Samoa Joe world title reign again. I hoped this would be the last of Hangman/Joe so Hanger could get into something substantial and as ecstatic as I am to see Swerve back it's such a god damn shame this title reign has ended before It got going.
