If you ever feel like you don't know what you're doing, just keep in mind Spotify sent out an email today with an image that is 8736x11648 in dimensions and 19.6MB in filesize.

So. You're fine.

Every year the whole team at Kit takes around a week and a half off for the holidays as one of the perks outside of normal PTO. I'm adding a few extra days and making it about 2 weeks.

Ready for the recharge, thankful for the time.

The Holiday is so good and you can't convince me otherwise.

Everyone who talked about how AI would give us freedom to be creative and push humanity forward with how we would have more time to make things...yeah it was a lie. This Is what we get instead.
This video is such a monumental step backwards. 😅
It's really sad that Chrome laid off one of the world's best CSS developer-designers, and now they have to fake demos of web features. youtu.be/d8J0vs-bEPE?...

The pattern of downloading a free app, going through a small tutorial, then being faced with a subscription requirement is one of the worst things to come out of the last decade.

I'd rather buy the app up front. Now I'm just gonna delete it.

I mean, the internet is measurably worse now, right? Everything is AI, everything is ads, everything is monetized, everything is shortcuts, everything is quick shitty low-effort content to try and become the next big thing...

Am I crazy or has it just not always been quite like this? Am I old?

They'll change it when it effects them personally, in a way that only benefits them personally.

Another day, another same old story.

Unbelievable.

Genuinely two of the most helpful "cheat-sheet" tools for development that I use more than I probably should admit:

- Operator Lookup by @joshwcomeau.com. I blanked on !! today and look at that, it's there! joshwcomeau.com/operator-lookup
- keycode.info by @wesbos.com. Does what it says on the tin.
Operator Lookup - Search JavaScript Operators
Friendly tutorials for developers. Focus on React, CSS, Animation, and more!

I've been thinking a lot about what makes a good photograph, especially when it comes to self critique of our own work.

New video up. Bring your coffees or whiskies.

This is fantastic. Free hosting for people that want a place on the internet that is their own as a throwback to the 90s.

I'm slowly coming around to the idea of killing my streaming subscriptions again and rebuilding the physical library. Spotify doesn't give a shit about artists, and it's more and more clear with every price increase and every CEO bonus.

It's more important than ever to directly support art.

Let's make AI jealous.
Write what Al can't touch.
Humans can think with their heads, hearts, and bodies.
Try moving your hands.
It's fine if your mind remains a jumble.
Ideas scattered across the paper.
Sometimes they connect by chance, and something new is born.
Pilot had a massive ad spread in a jp newspaper with "make AI jealous" and "write what AI can't touch" written on it

Anyway I think everyone should own a Pilot kakuno pen
