o1-pro nailed today's XKCD "puzzle" - very impressive. I'm not sure if the "average" human would get this or not.

It's 2025 and I have stopped using Google Search. ChatGPT 4o is surprisingly good at finding things and providing sources these days. I dabble in Perplexity, but when I'm looking for something specific and want a traditional search tool I use Kagi.com and I pay for it. Weird, I know.

The number one imperative of our time is to be friendly and welcoming rather than snarky to anyone who wants to get off the Trump Train, regardless of how we feel about their prior decision-making.

This is my bike. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
It is my transportation. I must master it as I must master my life. #copenhagen 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰

I can’t imagine morale at X-HQ is real great right now. Elon’s probably yelling at people over Zoom daily right?

Been lurking here for a while, but just set up my own domain as my handle which is kinda cool. Very web 2.0 vibes!

Just arrived to college with my new PC but it couldn't do CRC checks reliably and I didn't know why. Had to schlep my desktop to some random downtown Boston office and get my CPU swapped out.

It’s been 30 years since Intel’s infamous Pentium FDIV bug reared its ugly head – a math bug caused Intel’s first CPU recall
What’s worse, wrong math or dead chips?

I remember reading a pricing sheet for a Sun Spark server and was offended by the gouging happening. Power cables were $250, server rails $8000 etc. in 1999 dollars! https://twitter.com/ericvishria/status/1846395632392851566

My first computer. Two distinct memories were playing Blackjack off a cassette tape loader and writing BASIC code to draw a box around the screen. https://twitter.com/HumanoidHistory/status/1838171955280613540

Of all the things people are upset with Microsoft for, my top one is the absence of flag emojis at the OS level presumably due to geopolitical concerns. 🇩🇰 😮‍💨

Was jumping up and applauding by the end. For those of us who enjoyed Rob’s videos on AI safety for years, this was a beautiful video. Thanks Rob! https://twitter.com/robertskmiles/status/1796791257873940807

Agree with this and also: why don’t companies like this sell dev kits first? Trying to go from zero to mass market with a brand new device+category is near impossible. https://twitter.com/nikitabier/status/1780619234034475282

Seemingly everyone is missing the key innovation here. Instead of relying on APIs, they built an AI that uses a browser impersonating you and is able to browse the web visually, click on buttons, etc. A novel approach because the open web doesn't exist in 2024. #rabbitr1
