I eventually looked it up as well, since I don't know the TV show you mentioned.
Turns out it was the theme used on The Catherine Tate show, which I barely remember.
It must have been a show that I stumbled across years ago.
Anyway, it's a great song!

When did records become "vinyls", and why?

Does that mean CDs are now going to be called "polycarbonates"? 😉

And, BTW, some 45s were stamped out of styrene, not pressed in vinyl.

Some older 78s were shellac.

Yep, those are insidious. They actually look less harmless, but are the worst. In fact, I didn't even see this scratch until it skipped. It's very small, but parallel to the groove.
I may try using my stylus microscope and a sewing needle to pick at it. At least get it to jimp forward.

Yep, I tried the toothpick method. I also have a DJ cartridge that is built for scratching and used to play it backwards. Back and forth several times with extra weight.
No luck.

Bob Marley and the Wailers, Legend, 2004 tri-color vinyl. The first really cool find in those 4 totes of records I got. Unfortunately it's scratched and has skips. Also missing the jacket made of hemp. Gonna be wall art.
