This not even mentioning the open calls for genocide or people cheering on the killing of civilians in real life. Or the massive increase in anti Jewish and anti Muslim hate crimes and incidents that followed. I don't blame anyone who lost their faith in humanity after that.

I still haven't forgotten how garbage, unhinged and cancerous Twitter (and social media) was in October/late 2023 even by its own standards.

Never before in my life had I ever seen so much bloodlust, hatred and genocidal levels of dehumanization. Who even needs Neo Nazi sites anymore?

I don't know if I see Trump's ceasefire happening or being successful (I hope it is). But outside Gaza being bombed into oblivion and the massive deathtoll, this really didn't play out how I thought it would. I never thought it would lead to the fall of Assad or a war with Iran.

Can't believe it has been 2 years since the October 7 attacks. And since then so much in the region has changed.

Gaza is in ruins with over 60k dead, majority of the Israeli hostages are returned or dead, Hezbollah and Iran were weakened, and the Assad regime no longer exists.

Also important to note that hate crimes happening doesn't mean that criticisms of an ideology and human rights violations done by certain groups and states should be shut down.

Israel and the Islamic world aren't immune to criticism cause anti Jewish/Muslim prejudice exists.

I keep seeing this, but I don't believe the actions of Israel is to blame for antisemitic terror attacks the same way I don't believe the actions of Jihadists are to blame for islamophobic terror attacks.

The only people to blame are the bigots who carry out such attacks.

I'm so used to these mass protests you see anywhere in the world not actually leading to anything. I didn't expect we'd actually see a successful revolution anytime soon.

One depressing fear I have is that political violence in the US is not going to turn down anytime soon.

I don't want to say it will be Years of Lead levels of bad, but it definitely is going to get worse.

Expecting more shootings, terrorism and riots as extremism gets worse.
