👗 Empowering young Afghan women at Fabric Forge HTX!

Our Afghan Girls Sewing Class gives participants a culturally supportive space to learn, connect, and create. Started by sewist and activist Marzia Sultani, the class meets twice a week, with students designing beautiful, contemporary dresses.

Étoile Academy partnered with Fabric Forge (a My Connect Community initiative) to create inclusive uniforms, hijabs and dresses made locally with the school’s logo. 🎨✨

On National Good Neighbor Day (9/28), MCC hosted our first-ever community art project: "Our Heart. Our Home." 🎨💛

Neighbors came together for lemonade, cookies, chalk art, foot races, hopscotch, and plenty of laughter. A beautiful reminder that community is built in moments of connection. 🏡

This month, we hosted Legacy Health + the Safe Riders Program (TxDOT + Texas DSHS) at Connect Highstar for car seat installations. Thanks to our covered parking, families stayed cool, techs worked comfortably—and together we installed 24 FREE car seats across two events. ✨

Cheers for our newest grads from the Industrial Sewing Program at Fabric Forge!

For 10 weeks, these women trained on industrial machines + took ESL & Digital Literacy classes. Thanks to free onsite childcare, many first-time working moms were able to take a step toward new career opportunities.
