He hates the things he doesn't understand, which includes every ounce of reality, especially the outcomes of anything he does

EXTRA EXAMPLE, a small one: Bruce goes home, knocks something off the entryway table, walks away, then hurriedly comes back to put it back where it was (don't remember the thing he knocked off or dropped, so much happened since then). Such a little thing but such a vibe

In the first scene Charles is baking. He's being precise, British Bake-off is on. He tests the cake he's baking, it's not done, he puts it back in the oven. Dialed in and happy. Assassins attack. Fighting. Bake-off is still on. He kills one with a rolling pin. No dialogue, so much learned about him

The Brothers Sun is quite good. Really striking the balance between light hearted and heavy, drama and action, etc. Every character is a whole-ass person. Nontrivial tasks when writing stories/scripts. FOR INSTANCE: (1/2)

I'm uninsured, on a patient assistance program that allows me to get my epilepsy meds. If that program goes away, I'll have seizures every day. Clonic-tonic ones. Very few movies have terrified me more, or more enduringly, than The Fourth Kind.

None have scared me MORE, actually. I haven't watched it since and might never watch it again. Definitely the scariest (to me) "found footage" movie I know of
