It's a fabulous episode, speaking to indigenous-led GenAI development, ethics and critique. Brilliant series of interviews and explanations.

Indeed! The stories that shift with you are truly a treasure.

Getting to the point of carrying a story within you constantly without needing reference to the actual text is a highlight and a moment of sadness.

Among the most hideous & ubiquitous historical fables taught in this country are about the “discovery” of America and the “settling” of North America by pioneers. But there’s even more.

This Indigenous People’s Day,decide to learn.Ned Blackhawk & @rebeccanagle.bsky.social’s works are extraordinary.

I wonder if reading has a history of being framed as "boastful" (elite) cause it takes time and it takes privilege to have the resources to read?
Also remembering being condescendingly called Professor as a kid cause nose+book=happiness for me but not others.

Asking for a colleague, is there literature out there on using police interview transcripts as a historical source, particularly from a methodological perspective?

Fabulous thread that demonstrates, so clearly, how limited and erroneous, Tony Abbott's history is.

Damnit. I blew my book budget last night as a reward for a week well spent (hahas in geek).

If you're a better planner than me, get out there and make a difference this Love Your Bookshop Day! Please support your local bookstore (maybe score a penguin in the process).

I think...no, I frickin' don't.

Beyond feeling immense gratitude for the amazing teams and senior management that I've been working with at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University of late I'm not thinking anything for the next 24 hours.

What a week. And I had fun!

Good read, I could do it quicker, but where's the value in that? If you can't tell, I'm enjoying the process of connecting the author's work to case studies or future projects.

While reading and critiquing these chapters I'm constantly reminded of the history debates...

It's in progress.
A range of conversations with historians indicate many are:
- distrustful of LLM (the blackbox issue does not help)
- cautious about how it can be used well or with positive impact in education and research
- more training is needed
