This is very very very very, very very little work for people who make more than $100,000 and have staffs of more than three people.

Top causes of serious injury among out-of-shape Americans:
1. Pickle ball
2. ICE tryouts
3. Fell off couch onto wineglass

Albert calls to mind my favorite line from Salinger's works: "She doubts its reality simply because it isn't as steadily pleasurable as a kitten."

People are reading AI-generated synopses of books and then claiming they read 100 books in a week. This is how the abolition of books began in Fahrenheit 451: classics were condensed into five-minute summaries for those too busy to do the reading. Later came the burnings.

Reading for pleasure has fallen by 40 percent since 2000. This is not progress. You should read because it's good for your brain, your soul. You should read because our freedoms will not long endure in a post-literate world. Most of all, you should read because it's fun.

If you want to push back against tech's encroachment into every corner of our lives, you have to read books. They're eager to create a future in which most people are illiterate and hooked on slop, a world without imagination or knowledge. Reading is resistance.

Spotify is running ICE ads. I went to cancel on mobile and saw that this isn’t allowed on mobile. They make you cancel on desktop. You think that’s gonna stop me, Spotify? I will erase you and forget you ever existed.

THOU SHALT CANCEL SPOTIFY!!!

Yeah. So The White House
is designated a National Historic Landmark.

That means:

It’s formally recognized as having exceptional national historical significance.

Any substantial changes, demolitions, or new construction affecting it are tightly restricted.

It’s not his house! WTF.

Just thinking about how 3 women are murdered per day by partners & murder is the leading cause of death for pregnant women.
🚨 Married GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales allegedly had an affair with his senior aide, Regina Aviles — who was found dead after she supposedly doused herself in gasoline and set herself on fire, per The Daily Mail.

The Guard will get to the ICE building, look around, and say "really?" As PPB said, the entertainment district gets more action than ICE.

My co-workers are stellar reporters. Follow along for the latest. ⬇️
"The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit today overturned a temporary restraining order put in place by a federal judge in Portland – removing the legal impediment that was preventing the Trump Administration from sending National Guard troops to Portland."
9th Circuit rules that National Guard can deploy to Portland
The appeals court overturned the ruling of a lower court judge in Oregon, and clears the way for President Trump to deploy the National Guard to Portland.

If these immigrants are so "lazy" as the president states, why are they always hunting them down AT THEIR JOBS?!
Multiple community reports indicate that ICE and Border Patrol agents in unmarked vehicles are targeting construction workers, landscapers, and roofers today in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Here are a few videos/ images shared.

If you're a writer/other creator in the United States, consider creating an LLC for your business and then signing up for a local area Chamber of Commerce. Many of them have health insurance plans that pool their members and members of other CoCs to create insurance efficiencies relative to ACA.

This shows in so many ways Halligan is unsuited to be United States Dogcatcher, let alone United States Attorney. She writes a reporter whining about reporting but not offering any actionable specific things the reporter got wrong. There's NO WAY that helps anything.

Lindsey Halligan is a fucking moron.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

OK, I’ve finished marking up the per curiam opinion, and this is one of the worst opinions I’ve read this year.

It gets some things just flat out wrong, it works overtime to only provide Trump-friendly facts, and it stretches Newsom (the CA NG 9th Cir opinion) to the breaking point.
BREAKING: Ninth Circuit panel, on a 2-1 vote, allows Trump to deploy National Guard troops in Portland during litigation. Both judges siding with Trump were appointed by Trump in his first term.

Not to be THAT dictionary, but…

It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’
It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’
It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’
It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’
It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'

The White House is a public building and a National Park, maintained by the National Park Service. The President is a tenant. He has zero authority to tear up this building.
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

Hey, so another piece of advice for people who are S-Corps: there is a company called Opolis that acts as your employer of record and will provide health insurance and other benefits.
