Today, I am thinking about the families that are about to lose access to food. Especially as a parent, I can’t imagine what this means for children across our country. When feeding hungry kids isn’t a bipartisan policy, we have seriously lost our moral compass.

There are two integral parts to the economy, earnings and consumer spending. When spending is high, earnings are generally high, stock market is up and vice versa. Generally speaking when the economy is bad, spending is down because the labor market is down, people are out of work after all.

I think this is a pretty good bet.
Here’s where we’re headed next:

1. Record number of S&P 500 companies pull full-year earnings guidance.

2. “Jay Powell is artificially costing us trillions of dollars with high interest rates, he must be fired.”

3. “Beautiful phone call with my friend President Xi, we’re making a deal.”

What’s really going on with the economy?

I believe Trump and his billionaire buddies — the American oligarchy — have a plan.

They want a recession. robertreich.substack.com/p/why-trump-...
Why we’ll have a recession
Trump wants to get it over early in his term, so he and his fellow billionaires can buy up everything cheap and then enjoy the ride upward

The whole tariff thing is just a way for Trump and his billionaire buddies to tank the market to buy low and get more rich. It has nothing to do with helping Americans.

By the way whenever we come out of a deep recession like 2008, the rich get richer

My prediction: tariffs drive recession. rate cuts, tax cuts, and bailouts come next. Tariffs are removed. Economy recovers. National debt goes out of control. More transfer of wealth to the rich. US government and tax payers robbed again.

It’s always like Christmas morning when Open AI releases new toys. However, I get increasingly concerned when I see pricing like $200/mo for access to the best toys. I can’t help but feel this keeps the power of AI in the hands of the privileged.
