Many Americans are comfortable and don’t think anything will happen to them. So they stayed home. And here we are.
90 million people didn’t vote. The non-voters are the biggest “voting” bloc.

I had a great time on Saturday covering the Bay Area Book Festival. There will be a lot to check out on Sunday.

#Sinners was a great film. This coming from a girl who’s not big into horror. Ryan Coogler is a masterful storyteller. Seeing it in Oakland at the Grand Lake Theater was extra fun. The audience was into it.

You will be proud to know that I’m on Season 2 of DS9 and I went to a Star Trek Convention in January.
Yes he does! Go see his show. It’s running until March 9th, I think. I really enjoyed learning about his life.

Octavia Butler said, “My characters who are often Black and female behave as though they have no limitations.

They don’t run around saying ‘look at me! I’m Black, I’m female, I have no limitations.’ They just behave this way and do what they need to do.” #BlackBookSky

Here's your daily reminder that bookstores keep the love of reading alive — but they also keep neighborhoods beautiful. They are places to gather, to celebrate stories, to find community.

Please do your holiday shopping at your local independent bookstore, if you are lucky enough to still have one.
