Even with my insurance, it isn’t fully covered! I have secured 1.5k / 1.6k in funding in regards to my surgery!! I hope that I can achieve this goal and improve my quality of life and health! <3 thank you heaps!!!

TLDR; I was made to feel bad regarding my work, but very quickly realizing that I actually really really undercharge and should charge more. But I don’t. And my stuff is really a big steal.

My uncles wanted me to continue to create northwest coast works just as they did as traditional northwest artists. So giving up isn’t an option - but knowing my work is seen & loved is huge. I hope to make them proud. Thank you critters!! 🥺❤️🪶

My grandfather beaded in hospice at home til he was unable to. He taught me as a child, his loss was deviating to me and I had beaded off and on since . He wanted me to build a business and uphold the tradition and values.

I should be charging more - but I don’t. My work isn’t moving because the economy is absolutely jacked and I understand that. Every so often I get the same comments regarding my work, i assure you I truly undercharge. Authentic art is worth it.

Please be mindful and respectful of artists and their prices. This is traditional work. This is cultural art. This is breaking generational trauma etc. understand the value of traditional & cultural works. I pour EVERYTHING into every item I make.

Again my work is ONE OF ONE! My bandannas are ONE OF ONE! My collars are ONE OF ONE! It is going to come at a cost. And that cost I think is incredibly fair for what I do and offer. I cannot give a fully beaded bandanna away for 60$, the bandannas cost me 40-50 EACH.

Please do not compare me to other artists or compare other artists to me. It is unfair, I work very very hard and pride myself on my practices and quality. I uphold traditional values. I hear that more affordable work is wanted, I appreciate it.

I understand I cannot accommodate everyone. I understand I cannot please everyone.

But I cannot just throw hundreds down the drain because someone wants an item for 20$ that really did cost 100$ to make but I’m only charging 140$.

Let’s be very mindful that I do eat a large cost to deliver high quality items.

I feel my art is very fairly priced, I have also included free items with bandannas as a bundle deal etc. I am creating one of one works.

So - regarding my pricing.

It is very expensive to not exploit people. I don’t cut corners, I go directly to my relatives who are hunters & that comes at a cost. I only use local small businesses and other relatives when sourcing material.

It is very expensive for quality.

It is incredibly important to me that I am delivering a good product. Unfortunately, it is expensive to not exploit community members. I want to make sure folks and their families are eating. Even if I don’t eat.
