I’d rather see Mauricio get a shot at the 1B job and use that money to target OF improvement in CF and DH.

He was coming off injury, spent 2 seconds in Syracuse, and got lost on the bench when he didn’t pay off immediately.

He deserves a legit shot, and IB is a good spot for him if no Bear.

I show my lefties El Sid’s mechanics a lot. The early foot strike while staying closed really helped him hide the ball, disrupt timing, and made a FB that touched 90 play *way* up.

Also contributed to his knee issues, but he would not have been the same pitcher without it.

Bear is going to get 5 years—no more. Maybe club options after 5, but 5 guaranteed is the most he’ll see.

Honestly if he’s willing to take 3-4 I think he will get an AAV *haul* from someone.

I’m still betting on the Nats and their new TV money jumping in and grabbing him as he fills a lot of gaps.

I don’t see the Mets investing the years and $ in Schwarber. But I see zero reason other than that not to consider him given his improvement against LHP, and their need for a bat to potentially replace Bear & improve at DH.

Just doesn’t seem like a Stearns-like signing to me.

Sure, but I wouldn’t if I were the Tigers.

They are a smaller market team, but I’d be surprised if they pull a Rays with Skubal.

I’m looking at the Rangers. They didn’t sell after considering it, and ended up going nowhere.

Eovaldi and deGrom are both worth kicking the tires, IMO.

The cruelty is not the point, but it is a key tactic. The strategy is to make public education so dysfunctional that the only solution is to put public $ into vouchers.

This will turn “school choice” into the freedom of private schools to choose their students; the goal of the neo-Jim Crow agenda.

But with crisis comes opportunity. This criminality is the perfect pretext for blue state and city leaders to create their own police special task forces that respond to and investigate supposed ICE activities both to prevent criminal copycats, and ensure due process for actual DHS agents.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

The entire incident is infuriating and terrifying. She’s a Latina woman who was working a service job. On her way home late at night, with her headphones in, she was detained for an hour by masked federal agents who wouldn’t give her their names.

Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street
earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip tied her.
Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk.
Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.

Despite what some, including at DHS, are claiming, this video isn’t from a year ago in Chicago. It was Friday in Hoffman Estates, in my district, a street I’ve walked myself. It appears to show a child being violently detained by ICE. It’s real, and I’m demanding accountability.
