all this marathon training makes me such a lightweight

I’ve been working through a list of “best” romantic comedies with my wife (which has vigorously reignited my love for Julia Roberts). Last night was Bridget Jones’s Diary and even within the framework of rom-coms, it’s very bad. I was kind of flabbergasted. Why was it such a phenomenom?

this post is markedly remarkable tho

For all the talk on the Wiz not having a "star," I actually have a lot of stock in the Cam Whitmore leap. Excited to watch this dude this year.

Cam Whitmore's hometown team is giving him a second chance to prove he belongs in the NBA

Big Dumper has been a fantastic baseball story. A switch-hitting catcher crushing 60 homers and he's a Seminole?

Huge problem: he goes by Cal but his name is Caleb. A slap in the face to Calebs everywhere. Borderline unforgivable.

ICYMI, I have a story in the new issue of @oysterriverpages.bsky.social, which is officially out today. I listened to Mac Miller's Balloonerism, thought about my own death, and produced this little number. #amwriting #amreading #booksky

I spent today sitting with lit. Reading, writing, editing. It was a response to having my car in the shop. Now I wanna get rid of my car.

I've read some fucking killer books in 2025. My to-read list just keeps growing. Got anything to add to it? #Booksky

I was inspired to write my new story after listening to Mac Miller's Balloonerism and wondering what it'd be like after I died.

Today's my 35th birthday. I'm old enough to run for president, but all I'd really like is for you to read my new story and share it with your friends.

Wrote for The Metropolitan Review about the pros & cons of working w/ small indie presses vs. big presses, the journey from almost being a big fancy author to being a medium unfancy author, and mid-career re-evaluation of what I want out of the writing life

I watched the movie so many years ago, I feel like I'm starting fresh. Part of my issue is how cold it all reads. I get she's a scientist but it doesn't make for a great reading experience.

Reading Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. 50 pages in and something about the voice isn't working for me. Anyone else read it? #booksky
